Fine Artists
The entire first floor of the Zentrum für Kunst is dedicated to the visual arts. Studios of varying sizes provide space for both individual artists and collectives to explore and develop their ideas freely. From painting and media art to conceptual art and photography, the range of our current residencies represents the full spectrum of visual arts.
Between July of 2023 – 2026, more than 40 artists from Bremen will be utilizing the professional studio spaces (A-Z) on the first floor of the Zentrum für Kunst.

General Information
Eligibility for a residency requires that applicants are professionally working freelance artists residing in Bremen. They should be motivated to use the three-year studio residency as an opportunity for professionalization and artistic development, and to actively contribute to shaping the Zentrum für Kunst as a space for the independent art scene. There are no age limits or other restrictions.
The residencies are awarded following a thorough review of the submitted motivation letters and artistic portfolios. Diversity, inclusivity, and gender parity are core principles guiding the selection process, which is carried out by a rotating panel of expert jurors.
