Open Studios in November 2024
On November 16 & 17, 2024, 1,800 people visited the Center for Art to experience the visual artists in their studios and take part in the diverse program, which included guided tours, performances, a children’s studio, artist talks, and exhibitions.

During a visit by Federal Minister for Housing Klara Geywitz to the Tabakquartier, State Councillor for Culture Carmen Emigholz also welcomed the entourage at the Center for Art.
Impressions from the 2023/24 Season Finale
On June 22 and 23, 2024, the first major season finale celebration took place at the Center for Art. With an extensive and diverse program featuring performances, musical acts, installations, exhibitions, and open studios, the resident artists from the fields of visual arts, music, theater, and dance showcased their work to the public. Additionally, a symbolic handover of the baton from the 2023/24 season’s residents to those of the 2024/25 season took place.
Visit by Mayor and Senator for Culture Dr. Andreas Bovenschulte
Mayor and Senator for Culture of the City of Bremen, Dr. Andreas Bovenschulte, visited the studio floor housing 40 visual artists and took the opportunity to engage in conversation with the artist collectives ZKOER and Support Your Local Girl Gang*Team_Spirit.
Theatre Production "T4. Ophelia’s Garden" for the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of National Socialism
With a spectacular program, the Center for Art celebrated its opening in January 2023. Curious visitors from all over Bremen, artists, and politicians flocked to the Tabakquartier over three days to explore the new studio and rehearsal spaces as well as the two event halls. The entire 5,500 square meters were brought to life during the grand opening by professional dance and theatre groups, musicians, and visual artists from Bremen’s independent art scene.
Grand Opening in January 2023
On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of National Socialism on January 27, 2024, the play „T4. Ophelia’s Garden“ was successfully performed over three days at the Center with the support of the State Commissioner for People with Disabilities in Bremen. One of the three lead roles was played by the Bremen actress Nele Buchholz.
